Bishops Peak Elementary Garden Classroom
The Bishops Peak Elementary Garden Classroom was a senior thesis project for several Cal Poly Architecture students. The group designed a bamboo shade structure for a site at one of our local elementary schools, and end up receiving several thousand dollars in grants to build the project! I was heavily involved throughout the construction phase of the project in tasks like selecting bamboo, sanding, varnishing, building rebar cages, pouring the foundations, expoxying on the vertical columns, collar and branch assembly, and sail mounting. The project presented many challenges, but the end result is something I am very proud to have been a part of. The kids seem to love it too! Visit the garden at bishops peak, if you'd ever like to see it in person!
